Kamala Harris is certainly on a roll, but not the kind that most Americans can get behind. Instead of engaging with the hardworking citizens negatively impacted by her policies—rising inflation, soaring gas prices, and a border crisis she helped create—she’s off promoting herself on platforms like “Call Her Daddy” and “The View.” It seems the Vice President has a particular affinity for audiences that don’t challenge her lofty narratives or inconvenient truths.
It’s almost comical how her PR tour avoids any real discussion about the effects of her decisions on everyday Americans. Liberals may lap up the carefree banter and catchy soundbites. Still, they won’t be discussing those pesky details like the record-high crime rates in urban areas or the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. Those topics are a bit too inconvenient for a good mood, aren’t they? Instead, Harris can speak about progressivism and ignore the real chaos brewing in the communities she claims to serve.

What makes this whole charade even more absurd is how Harris positions herself as a champion for the people while deftly dodging accountability. During her appearances, she often highlights some distant future benefits of her administration’s policies—benefits that seem to come with a heaping side of “if you squint hard enough.” People relying on gas to commute, small businesses struggling with endless regulations, and families watching their grocery bills skyrocket must feel like characters in a sitcom, given her glib approach to monumental issues affecting their lives.
In the spirit of accountability, one must recognize Harris’s talent for deflecting serious discussions. While she’s giggling on the couch with fellow celebrities, the American electorate gets left behind. It’s as if she thinks charm alone will erase the fallout from her failed policy decisions, leaving behind a trail of confusion and disenfranchisement for those Americans not tuning in to her latest media blitz. This strategy of charming liberal audiences while giving the cold shoulder to conservative concerns makes one wonder if she believes transparency is overrated.
As Harris continues to parade around in the media landscape, conservatives are left scratching their heads. It’s a classic case of living in a bubble, where cozy chats with fellow leftists are the order of the day, while crucial conversations with the American public are brushed aside. Unfortunately, those who suffer from harmful policies don’t have the luxury of laughter and banter; they need solutions. One can only hope that for Harris, the optics will eventually shift from pandering liberal media tours back to the crucial issues that actually matter.
