Kamala Harris is at it again, proving that her heart—and taxpayer dollars—lie abroad as America faces its crises. The Vice President recently made the proud announcement that the United States will be handing over a mountain of cash in humanitarian aid to Lebanon. At the same time, American citizens in places like North Carolina remain stuck without clean water or electricity. It’s a classic case of “foreign interests first,” and Americans are left wondering where their government’s priorities lie.
In her latest talking points, Harris touted the money as a lifeline for civilians struggling with food shortages, lack of shelter, and sanitation issues in Lebanon. Who wouldn’t want to help those in distress across the globe? However, perhaps it would be prudent first to figure out how to assist fellow Americans in distress back home. It seems odd to prioritize a foreign nation’s needs while communities in the United States are still grappling with the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. The irony here is palpable, yet the Biden-Harris administration appears blissfully unaware.
What about the people of North Carolina?

Over the past year, the U.S. has already poured more than $385 million into Lebanon, which raises an important question: where is the money for Americans impacted by disasters? Just days before Harris’ lavish promise, the Department of Homeland Security conveniently claimed it lacked the funds to help hurricane victims on American soil. Instead, Harris casually announced a mere $750 for those struggling after the storm. One can’t help but raise an eyebrow at this disparity; it’s almost as if American citizens have become an afterthought.
The contrast couldn’t be more striking. The administration seems fine, shelling out $100 billion for foreign wars, $640 million for illegal immigrants, and a staggering $385 million for a foreign country while American citizens, the very people whose taxes fund these initiatives, get a paltry amount. It’s almost as if “America Last” has become the motto of the Biden-Harris administration. If this continues, it won’t be long before Americans start feeling like they need to schedule a GoFundMe to get basic services restored.
To compound the irony, many voices, including former Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard, have pointed out this absurdity, questioning whether the Biden-Harris administration even understands the concept of priorities. On the national stage, Harris may be getting pass after pass. Still, there’s a growing chorus of disgruntled citizens wondering why they’re left out in the cold—both literally and metaphorically—while funds are redirected overseas. The grim reality is that as Lebanon receives humanitarian aid, Americans continue to suffer, and the disconnect couldn’t be clearer.
