Kamala Harris Takes Election Advice From Hillary Clinton Democrats Panic

In a scenario that can only be described as a political disaster movie, Kamala Harris is currently receiving advice from the queen of electoral heartbreak herself, Hillary Clinton. Not only is Harris facing a lackluster approval rating, but she’s now relying on strategies from someone who is essentially the poster child for how to blow a winnable election. While Hillary once waltzed into the 2016 election with overwhelming confidence, it quickly became clear that regular Americans had other plans. They didn’t just resist the endless parade of professional pundits and pollsters—they effectively slapped them upside the head with a massive surprise victory for Donald Trump.

Fast forward to 2023, and it seems the Democratic dream team of bad choices is still alive. Kamala Harris, who has recently been hovering in a statistical tie with Trump, is getting the elected equivalent of a backseat driver from someone with a track record of failure. Unlike in 2020 when Biden was ahead by a comfy seven points, today’s polls are painfully clear: Harris is in a nail-biting race with the former president. Conventional wisdom dictates that such a situation should cause some serious alarm in Democratic circles, especially since their own data often downplays the underestimated strength of Trump’s base.

The warning signals from Democratic pollsters are blaring like a fire alarm—though nobody seems to be listening. Their latest rounds of doom and gloom suggest that Harris is far from a slam dunk. As an added dose of irony, Clinton recently popped up in an interview to label Harris as the “underdog” in the upcoming race. Apparently, when your main strategy involves admitting you’re the underdog, it’s time to rethink your game plan. Clinton’s complaints about the Electoral College, which she insists cost her a victory, only underscore her unwillingness to acknowledge the will of the American electorate.

George Washington and his pals back in the day knew a thing or two about protecting the nation from a tyranny of the majority, which is precisely what the Electoral College accomplishes. It ensures that candidates must appeal to a diverse geographic range. And who does that better than Trump, who has cultivated a coalition spread across critical swing areas? By contrast, Harris is faced with the harsh reality that her appeal is far more localized and is quickly fading as the political honeymoon period comes to a screeching halt.

Despite the glaring weaknesses in her candidacy, Harris continues to take calls from Clinton, who enjoys serving up her brand of dubious advice. It’s already a source of comic relief within the political arena—watching Harris try to navigate the same pitfalls that swallowed Clinton whole. As the clock ticks toward election night, one can only hope that Harris doesn’t take a page out of Clinton’s playbook and do the opposite of what common sense dictates. So here’s to a wild ride as these two heavyweights of political misstep continue on their collision course toward what promises to be nothing short of a train wreck for the Democrats.
