Kamala Harris took a trip to Penzeys Spices in Pittsburgh, where she sought to curry favor with a company whose CEO has made it abundantly clear that Republicans are not welcome. Bill Penzey, in his quest to illuminate the darkness he perceives in the conservative voting populace, has labeled Republicans as “the problem we face.” This visit was as predictable as a Hollywood awards ceremony featuring a speech about climate change.
In a world where the meaning of “inclusive” is apparently lost, Harris was there to mask her indifference to the genuine struggles of ordinary Americans with a sprinkle of carefully crafted empathy. One can’t help but wonder if any of her initiatives, like the disastrous border policies or inflationary tactics, had graced even a single conversation during her tour. Meanwhile, the left-leaning media lapped it up like hungry puppies. It’s almost endearing how these elites think that visiting a spice shop can distract from the economic mess they’ve created.

Penzey’s previous rants against conservatives reveal a hypocrisy that could give even a seasoned politician whiplash. He proclaimed that it’s time to choose between “saving America and planet Earth” or “saving the feelings of Republican voters.” What a hero! Penzey appears to operate under the illusion that calling out over half the country for its voting choices could somehow win him a Nobel Prize in compassion. Rather than keeping his business a safe space for all spice enthusiasts, he would much rather play politics by ostracizing those whose opinions differ from his own.
This isn’t the first time Penzey has launched into a melodrama over who votes for whom. Following Donald Trump’s victory in 2016, he decided to label Trump supporters as openly racist, solidifying his status as one of those who believes that personal affronts to ideology justify corporate commentary. He seems to be under the impression that the more vitriol he spews, the better the saffron sales will be. It’s quite a recipe for brand loyalty—serve up a dish of disdain alongside your spices.
As Harris spun her web of forced camaraderie with the shoppers, it was clear that anything resembling genuine concern for the American voter was missing. She and Penzey have become the poster children for elitist disdain, conveniently forgetting that the marginalized voters they claim to protect can see through the charade. While Trump welcomes all who wish to restore the nation, Harris’s pandering is as empty as a leftist promise during an election cycle. The alliance between Harris and Penzey seems destined for failure, and if their track records are any indication, this election season is set to sprinkle the conservative message with a side of victory.
