KY GOP Bill to Ax DEI Mind Games in Academia

Good ol’ Kentucky is making headlines once again, and this time it’s for taking a stand against divisive, leftist propaganda infiltrating our beloved public universities. The state legislature is considering a bill that would put the kibosh on using diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) mind control in non-credit classes and trainings at these institutions of higher learning. The man behind this bill, Republican state Sen. Mike Wilson, is not here for the nonsense. He’s had enough of the leftist brainwashing and is ready to tackle the issue head-on.

Sen. Wilson is not mincing words when it comes to the danger of DEI policies. He’s sick and tired of these policies tearing us apart instead of bringing us together as true Kentuckians. The bill isn’t trying to squash DEI offices or initiatives completely, but it’s demanding that they start valuing “intellectual diversity” and promoting merit-based practices among students and faculty. Can you believe it, folks? Merit-based practices, what a concept!

If that wasn’t enough, the bill would also allow students and faculty to sue universities if they’re caught pushing these divisive ideas down their throats. And what divisive ideas are we talking about here? Well, for starters, the bill would ban the idea that someone’s race or gender automatically makes them “privileged” or inherently “racist” or “sexist.” It’s about time someone put their foot down on this nonsense.

But, hold your horses, because there’s a little snag in the bill. It’s got a First Amendment provision that might cause some confusion about what it can actually accomplish. It’s no secret that our beloved First Amendment protects freedom of speech, so it seems like the bill might need a bit of tweaking to make sure it’s rock-solid.

Now, over in Tennessee, Gov. Bill Lee already signed a similar law, but they had to tweak it a bit after getting some input from the universities. And, surprise, surprise, the universities weren’t as restricted in their DEI pushing as some might have hoped. Those sneaky leftists are always finding loopholes, aren’t they?

But fear not, true blue Kentuckians! Our public universities are ready to stand their ground on inclusivity, even in the face of this bill. They’re saying they’ll comply with the ban on using diversity statements for hiring and admissions, but they’re still spouting off about being inclusive. It’s like they didn’t even read the bill! *wink*

And hey, it’s not just in Kentucky and Tennessee where they’re fighting back against these DEI initiatives. Texas is playing hardball too, and those schools have found some pretty crafty ways to get around the DEI bans. They’re just slapping on a new name and moving the initiatives to a different department. It’s like playing whack-a-mole with those leftists!
