Speculation swirls around the Trump family as whispers of a political dynasty gain traction, thanks largely to none other than Lara Trump, daughter-in-law to the soon-to-be President. Donald Trump has his sights set on establishing a formidable family legacy, and his hopes may rest on Lara stepping into the political arena. However, it seems Lara isn’t jumping at the chance to don her political hat right away, no matter how much her father-in-law might want it.
In a recent chat with the U.K. Daily Mail, Lara revealed that amidst the juicy rumors of her taking over Marco Rubio’s soon-to-be-vacated Senate seat, she is taking a hard pass. With Marco Rubio slated to leave his position to serve as Secretary of State, many excitedly speculated about Lara stepping into his shoes. However, it appears that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has other plans for that seat, which doesn’t include the former president’s favorite pick, at least for now.
It’s no surprise that Donald Trump would want his daughter-in-law to keep it in the family. Unfortunately for him, Lara is not yet feeling the political itch. She shared that her reluctance was not met with open arms from Donald, who seemed to be a tad disappointed when she stated her disinterest in pursuing a Senate campaign “right now.” One could only imagine the elder Trump responding with the trademark expression of “You’re fired!” if Lara were to ever give that line a shot.
While the Senate seat might be a hot topic, Lara left the door open regarding her future political ambitions, promising her fans that the MAGA movement would be seeing more of her soon. Whether that means more appearances on conservative talk shows or launching a fashion line geared toward red-blooded American patriots is yet to be determined. One thing is clear, though—this isn’t the last we’ll hear from Lara Trump; she hinted that her presence may be more loved by some than others.

Despite her current disinterest in a political career, Lara brings up Florida Governor DeSantis and his political instincts. She has all the faith in the world that he will make the right choice for Rubio’s replacement. Lara invoked DeSantis’s track record of success in governing Florida, proving that she knows who the real political heavyweights are in the Sunshine State.
Behind the scenes, Lara continues to cultivate her talents outside of politics as she ventures into the realms of clothing design and music. For now, whether or not the Trump name becomes a permanent fixture in the Senate remains to be seen. However, with Donald Trump installed as the 47th President of the United States, January 20 promises to be an exciting day for not only the family but also for the countless supporters who are looking forward to the next chapter in the Trump legacy.
