It seems that every few years, America finds itself in a disturbingly familiar cycle of chaos and denial, where a select group of “useful idiots” wreak havoc without facing any real consequences. This trend was once again brought to light, echoing back to the days of the anti-Wall Street protests and the infamous antics of Antifa during the first Trump administration. The Democrats appear to have conveniently lost their moral compass, offering nothing but complicit silence or worse, deflected blame. One might assume that the progressive project relies on these young people acting out, all while turning a blind eye to the ramifications of such actions.
In California, where officials like Karen Bass and Gavin Newsom love to play the blame game, the narrative is that it’s easier to point fingers at past administrators like Donald Trump than to take responsibility for their policies that have enabled such behavior. After all, when politicians tell ICE to exit stage left from their cities and fail to enforce the law, they are essentially giving a green light to lawlessness. The logic here seems dubious, yet the strategy appears to be benefiting them, at least politically. The bigger question is, why aren’t they being held accountable? It’s almost as if inaction has become part of some unwritten playbook.
Universities, supposed fortresses of learning, have become breeding grounds for indoctrination. Students are being spoon-fed liberation philosophies without being held accountable for their actions. When 14,000 people can get arrested during the George Floyd riots of 2020 and most walk away without repercussions, it’s little wonder that such behaviors continue to thrive. The message is clear: if you can frame yourself as a revolutionary fighting for some vague cause, you are above the law. This is not a sustainable formula. History tells us so, as seen in the 1970s when the Weather Underground and SDS faced the music. The nation eventually snapped back to a more conservative stance, leaving those revolutionary dreams in the dust.
Many are beginning to speculate that this pattern of appeasement toward lawlessness could result in a very real conservative backlash. American society might once again swing the pendulum hard in the opposite direction, bringing forth a wave of law and order. This is a land where people cherish security and stability, and there’s only so much tumult they can tolerate before demanding change. When people grow tired of sleepless nights, worrying not about the American dream but about being collateral damage in someone else’s misguided rebellion, leaders who fail to act will lose their mandates.
Even more confounding is that amidst all this, we hear whispers of amnesty, as if rewarding illegal actions is somehow going to solve these entrenched issues. There’s a prominent narrative being pushed that breaking the law has become a moral imperative, while those attempting to enforce it are seen as oppressors. It’s a twisted logic that benefits many, from employers looking to exploit cheap labor to politicians seeking demographic shifts advantageous to their agendas. But someone has to draw the line and say, “enough is enough.” It’s time to stop this charade, enforce the laws, and restore some semblance of order before more chaos ensues.
