The left’s disdain for the newly established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) could fill an ocean with their tears. Since President Trump initiated this advisory committee, the usual suspects on the left have been flailing about in panic like a cat in a bathtub. Instead of addressing waste, fraud, and corruption, their first instinct was to grab their lawyer’s phone number faster than a congressman grabs a lobbyist’s check.
When President Trump officially took office, the left wasted no time, filing a barrage of lawsuits the very day the ink dried on his inauguration. The complaints claim that DOGE isn’t a legitimate government department but just an advisory committee, conveniently ignoring the obvious effectiveness it promises. The Democrats seem to be clutching their pearls, arguing that the Trump administration is skirting the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA). This act requires all advisory committees to hire and disclose information in a “public” manner. Apparently, those in the Democrat camp have never stumbled upon that pesky little nugget known as common sense.
One particular lawsuit criticizes DOGE for operating without a congressional blessing, claiming the operation is helmed by “unelected billionaires.” Given that the bureaucratic swamp is far more toxic than a pool of alligator-infested water, one must wonder why the left won’t instead applaud anyone willing to drain it. If your solution to government efficiency involves unelected billionaires who actually want to fix the mess and not just cover it up, maybe it’s worth a shot. But leftists don’t seem particularly interested in solutions; they seem more engrossed in litigation.
On February 3, leftist nonprofits ramped up their campaign against DOGE by suing the Treasury Department for giving access to sensitive data. The coalition of groups—including entities that sound more like a card game at a retirement home than serious contenders—decried what they view as oversharing by the Trump administration. The bottom line is that these groups abound with alarmism but little substance, fearing that the very presence of DOGE could unearth unflattering truths about the federal government’s inefficiency.
You Will Never Guess How Many Lawsuits Have Been Filed Against DOGE So Far https://t.co/dqChKLpsrT

Even the federal judges, seemingly overwhelmed by the whirlwind of legal antics, have been less than impressed with these lawsuits. A federal judge last ruled that the claims lacked enough evidence and showcased more of a temper tantrum than a serious legal grievance. While the left is gearing up for a marathon of lawfare, the likelihood of their frivolous claims making a dent in the DOGE initiative seems slim. That said, they’re succeeding in one area: reminding everyone just how out of touch they are with the average American’s desire for accountability and effectiveness in government.
The far-left’s efforts against DOGE read more like a soap opera than a legitimate legal strategy. With each passing lawsuit, it becomes glaringly evident that their objections are rooted in a political grievance against the creators of DOGE rather than any real concern over government integrity. And while Democrats may revel in their current barrage of lawsuits, they risk exposing their own interests as being less about the integrity of government and more about protecting their turf. As Congress continues to see waste, fraud, and corruption laid bare, a peculiar reality might dawn on those on the left: sometimes, the solution really is a couple of billionaires and a chainsaw.
