In the footage a customer aggressively confronts an elderly Target worker for wearing a Charlie Kirk “Freedom” shirt, a confrontation captured and amplified by conservative creators who rightly called attention to the harassment.
Reporters and social media sleuths have identified the woman filming the encounter as Michelea Ponce, who is listed on public profiles as working in healthcare—an irony that won’t be lost on anyone watching a supposed caregiver turn into a political bully. Conservatives should be furious that someone who claims to serve the public would spend her time publicly shaming another American for exercising basic free expression.
The clip, first posted to TikTok and quickly spread across platforms, shows the harasser hurling insults and trying to turn a simple shirt into a spectacle; viewers online erupted — some defending the employee, many disgusted at the performative cruelty. This episode is another example of left-wing performative outrage: loud, public, and designed to shame instead of resolve.
Let’s be clear: workplaces should be neutral zones where people aren’t browbeaten for their beliefs while they’re trying to earn a paycheck. Yet here we are again, watching a younger activist lecture and humiliate an older worker in the fluorescent light of a big-box store, then brag about it to the internet. If corporations like Target tolerate this behavior, they’re not neutral; they’re enabling harassment, and consumers should respond accordingly.
This isn’t about Charlie Kirk personally — it’s about the broader assault on freedom of expression and on decent behavior in public.
