Twelve of these Democrats are reportedly ready to vote with Republicans to reopen the government, but of course, there’s a catch. In exchange for their cooperation, they demand a future vote on extending Obamacare subsidies. It’s a classic maneuver—holding the American people hostage to score political points. Meanwhile, America watches and waits for responsible governance to step up to the plate.
Senator Ashley Moody, a staunch defender of commonsense policies, is at the forefront of efforts to bring sanity back to Washington. She points out, quite reasonably, that this entire debacle was entirely avoidable. The average American has had to endure a series of grandstanding stunts by the Democrats, from protests to poetry readings, all in the name of political theater.
