But this isn’t McConnell’s first freeze-fest. Back in July, during a press conference on Capitol Hill, the Kentucky Republican went silent for a jaw-dropping 19 seconds before being escorted away from the cameras. It seems like McConnell’s brain just couldn’t handle the pressure. Maybe he should consider doing some mental exercises to keep those freeze-ups at bay.
At 81 years old, McConnell certainly has a lot on his plate. It’s understandable that his mind might wander from time to time. But with his frozen moments becoming more frequent, one has to wonder if he’s really fit for another go at re-election. After all, we don’t need a senator who can’t even engage in a simple press conference without freezing like a popsicle.
Perhaps McConnell should take a page out of former President Donald Trump’s book and focus on some other activities outside of politics. It’s clear that he’s not too keen on discussing anything related to Trump, so maybe some golf or painting would be a better fit for him. It’s time for McConnell to thaw out and let some fresh conservative blood take the reins.
