The recent uproar surrounding remarks made by Donald Trump distracts from a much more pressing issue: the ongoing disaster at the southern border, a situation largely facilitated by Kamala Harris’ inaction and the current administration’s feckless immigration policies. While the mainstream media might prefer to focus on rhetorical flare from the former president, the reality is that the open border policy has escalated a national crisis that puts American lives at risk every single day.
Under Harris’ watch, the southern border has become a playground for criminals and drug cartels. The increased flow of undocumented migrants not only overwhelms border patrol agents but has also led to a surge in human trafficking and drug-related deaths. It seems that while the Biden administration is busy crafting eloquent speeches, they’ve effectively turned a blind eye to the chaos manifesting just south of the Rio Grande. For families affected by drug overdoses or violent crime linked to this border crisis, Trump’s choice of words becomes a moot point.
Critics of Trump often hurl accusations regarding his rhetoric while failing to recognize that words, however colorful, carry far less weight than the tangible consequences of a lax border policy. The statistics tell a grim story: deaths from fentanyl overdoses reached record highs, largely due to the unchecked flow of drugs across the border. Yet, Harris continues to play the role of a silent vice president, seemingly comfortable with the status quo while American families suffer.

Polls indicate that voters prioritize border security, yet those in power seem more invested in political theatrics than addressing the stark realities of illegal immigration. When will government officials wake up to the dangers lurking just a line of barbed wire away?
One can only hope that as the chaos continues, more Americans will start connecting the dots between misguided policies and the ensuing carnage. The pressing need for decisive action at the border is clear, and while Trump may have been controversial, he had a proven track record of prioritizing American safety over political correctness. It’s time for the Biden administration to prioritize securing the border before more lives are lost in the name of an ineffective and dangerously permissive approach to immigration.
