Rather than scrutinizing the implications of this stunning act, the media’s attention is glued to trying to smear Trump’s appointments before they have a chance to take office.
Perhaps the media has taken the title of “fake news” to a new low, as outlets like The New York Times and The New Yorker are leading the charge against Trump’s choices for Secretary of Defense and FBI director, respectively. The overwrought claims surrounding Pete Hegseth’s past and attorney Kash Patel’s qualifications reveal an intense desperation to derail these nominations. As if that’s not enough, the ex-Democrat Tulsi Gabbard’s nomination for Director of National Intelligence is being panned with ludicrous accusations of espionage—perfect examples of the media’s uncanny ability to twist the knife at someone who dares cross the aisle.
