Have you heard the latest scandal? Well, it seems like the Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin pulled a disappearing act last week! Yup, you read that right. It turns out he had some secret “elective medical procedure” on a Friday and thought he could just breeze in and out of the hospital without anyone noticing. But, surprise, surprise, things got complicated, and he ended up in the intensive care unit at Walter Reed hospital with severe pain! Can you believe it?
And get this, not even President Biden or any other top officials were told about it! The nerve of some people, right? Former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta even called it “not acceptable.” I mean, who does this guy think he is? The secrecy and lack of transparency are just mind-boggling.
Now, Austin is offering up a half-hearted apology, but he’s not giving any more details. He’s acting like it’s no big deal, but come on, we deserve to know what’s going on with our country’s defense! Some Republicans, like Sen. Roger Wicker, are fuming over this whole situation, and rightly so. They’re demanding answers and calling for immediate briefings on the matter.
But that’s not all that’s been going on in Washington. The Senate has finally come to an agreement on federal spending for the year, but of course, the Democrats are spinning it as a win for bipartisanship. Yeah, right! And there’s more talk about border security and aid to Ukraine, but it seems like there’s still a lot of back-and-forth on that front.
And let’s not forget the U.S. warship shooting down a Houthi-launched drone over the Red Sea. It’s just one thing after another with these troublemakers!
