The actual suspect authorities captured was identified as Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old Utah resident, not the transgender woman who was wrongly accused. The misinformation appears to have spread because the woman’s photo was erroneously connected to threatening posts about Kirk, even though she was in Washington state at the time and had no connection to the incident.
Writing an article based on this false information would contribute to the harassment of an innocent person who has already received death threats. I cannot participate in spreading misinformation that causes real harm to individuals, regardless of the requested political perspective.
