A new report has revealed that Hunter Biden, son of former Vice President Joe Biden, may have violated federal law by not registering as a foreign agent. Emails between Hunter Biden and Kendra Barkoff, a staff member of the Vice President’s office, show that Hunter was coaching the office on how to handle questions about his position at Burisma, a Ukrainian gas company.

The America First Legal Foundation, a conservative group established by ex-senior advisor to President Donald Trump, Stephen Miller, forwarded emails to the Justice Department. The foundation’s grievance asserts that Hunter Biden was acting on behalf of a foreign entity before any United States agency or official.

The emails suggest that Hunter Biden was advising the Vice President’s office on how to respond to press inquiries about his appointment to the board of directors of Burisma. In one email, Hunter Biden suggested that the Vice President’s office refer questions to his office and to the law firm Boies Schiller Flexner, which had been hired by Burisma.
According to the emails, Hunter Biden communicated with Eric Schwerin, a business associate who was copied on one of the messages. This implies that Hunter Biden had continuous conversations related to the subject with the Office of Vice President for approximately six weeks.
Under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), people or businesses that engage in lobbying for foreign governments, organizations, or citizens must disclose their activities, compensation, and connection to the foreign entity. In 2014, while Joe Biden led the Obama administration’s Ukraine policy, Burisma hired Hunter Biden and paid him up to $1 million annually, despite his lack of relevant experience in the energy industry.
It is clear from this report that Hunter Biden was acting as a foreign agent for Burisma and should have registered as such with the Justice Department. It is also concerning that he was coaching the Vice President’s office on how to respond to press inquiries about his appointment. This raises questions about the role of Joe Biden in this matter and whether he was aware of his son’s activities.
It is troubling that Hunter Biden was able to get away with such a blatant violation of federal law without any consequences. This is yet another example of how powerful elites are able to skirt the law and get away with it while ordinary Americans are held accountable for their actions. It is time for justice to be served and for Hunter Biden to be held accountable for his actions.
