New York is about to ring in the new year with a bang, and by bang, we mean a bunch of new laws that will impact hardworking Americans.
Normal people – What you up to New Year’s Eve? Fun? Looking forward? Thoughtful resolution?
Tories – scrapping 4000 EU laws in 1 go. Employment rights, food safety, environmental laws, all protections abolished. ? ?
Didn’t put that on the side of a bus did they?#REUL pic.twitter.com/NcG6ULGTv4

First up, the minimum wage is getting a boost to a whopping 15 dollars per hour across the state, and a staggering 16 dollars per hour in New York City. Now, folks, we all know that raising the minimum wage just leads to businesses cutting jobs and automating positions. Plus, it’s hard-earned taxpayer dollars that fund these increases. But you won’t hear Governor Kathy Hochul mentioning that. Instead, she’s spouting off about how it’s supposed to help single mothers and minorities.
Finally, the lifeguard law. Allowing 15-year-olds to be lifeguards? There is a need for strong, responsible adults watching over pools and beaches, not a bunch of teenagers who can’t even drive yet. This is just more liberal nonsense that puts safety at risk.
