Nancy Pelosi appears to have taken a vow of silence when it comes to President Joe Biden. It seems the former House Speaker has opted for the old adage, “If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all,” and decided that silence is the best course of action.
Pelosi, that beacon of Democratic wisdom, demonstrated the same deft touch that has characterized her decades in politics. She claimed respect for Biden, asserting he’s a consequential president, but only if one squints really hard at history. Interestingly, her idea of “protecting his legacy” was encouraging him to pull the plug on any further campaigns. It seems respecting someone involves helping them exit stage left—who knew?

In her oh-so-enlightened perspective, it’s all about “decisions.” Pelosi made it clear that she’s taken a firm stance against Donald Trump, declaring he’ll never again see the inside of the White House. It’s a wonder how she didn’t go full Nostradamus, claiming to foresee the future of the Republican Party. Maybe she should consult a crystal ball next; it might have better results than her predictions.
The pièce de résistance of her remarks was her aversion to saying Trump’s name, comparing it to a curse word. True to her Catholic upbringing, she seems to live by the mantra that profanity can lead to eternal damnation—talk about a fiery concern! It raises some important questions: What will she say when the big Trump rallies come around? Maybe a gentle “the orange man” or “he who must not be named.” It truly is a conundrum for her delicate sensibilities.
Meanwhile, the drama of a former Speaker shunning a sitting president adds a dose of humor to the political scene. One can only imagine Biden, somewhere in the White House, pondering if he’s crossed off another friend from his list. The real tragedy here is that Pelosi’s holier-than-thou act may distract from actual pressing issues, leaving conservatives laughing and shaking their heads as the Democratic ship sails further into turbulent waters.
