Poll Shows Biden Losing Key Voter Demographic Support as Trump Gains Momentum

A recent poll shows that President Biden is losing support from voters who still need to have a college degree. This suggests that his chances for re-election could be in jeopardy. In 2020, Biden had the support of 42% of these voters, but now that number has dropped to 32%. In contrast, former President Trump has gained more support from this demographic, with 44% now backing him compared to 42% in 2020.

Voters without a college degree made up a significant portion of the 2020 electorate, including groups like Black and Hispanic women, young voters, and suburban moms. This decline in support for Biden is part of a larger trend where his overall popularity is decreasing. Young people are turning away from him due to his policies on Israel and the economy, while Black and Hispanic voters are increasingly supporting the MAGA movement.

Independent voters are also becoming disillusioned with Biden, especially in crucial states like Michigan. It is suggested that the ongoing conflict in Gaza could lead to reduced support from Muslim voters in this state.
Although Biden may still have the support of single, college-educated women, it is still being determined whether they can make up for the significant decline in support from other demographic groups that historically backed the Obama coalition.

On the other hand, there is optimism for former President Trump’s potential to gain more support from voters without a college degree. This shift in support among this demographic could potentially make the upcoming election a much tighter race than in 2020.
