The Congressional Progressive Caucus is once again ready to launch a full-scale assault on common sense under the guise of defending the rights of oppressed Americans. This enthusiastic group of left-wing lawmakers has expressed their outrage over President Trump’s recent executive actions that challenge their cherished liberal policies. Instead of acknowledging the necessity of these changes, they’ve labeled Trump’s efforts a “hateful agenda.” Clearly, they believe in their version of love and liberty—just as long it aligns with their far-left ideals.

Greg Casar, the Chairman of the Progressive Caucus and a proud Texan, declared their commitment to join striking workers, which everyone knows is a sure-fire way to make friends with those actually trying to run businesses. While Trump is busy taking necessary steps to eliminate the birthright citizenship for individuals in the country illegally, Casar is more focused on stirring the pot by making complaints about corrupt CEOs supposedly benefiting from tax breaks. It’s a classic case of misdirection: while the President aims to secure borders and explain to immigrants that obeying laws is essential, the progressive crowd prefers to paint him as the villain swooping in to steal their lunch money.
Democrat Rep. Chuy Garcia from Illinois took a trip down the rabbit hole, denouncing Trump’s definition of certain Mexican drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations—because, apparently, naming terrorists makes one a vilifier of immigrants. It is almost comical to see the left simultaneously call for border security and then throw a fit when actual criminals are named as threats. The logic could leave a person dizzy, but fans of progressive policies seem to enjoy the wild ride.
Not stopping at national security, the left also took umbrage with Trump withdrawing from the Paris Climate Accord, as if the world’s climate hinges entirely on U.S. participation in feel-good agreements that often overlook actual science. The Progressive Caucus, led by Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, has vowed to combat what they interpret as an agenda filled with hate. Their vision of “transformative change” sounds a lot like a return to the dark ages of identity politics, where only the most radical ideals survive. One has to wonder, do they see the average American as just another pawn in their great game of social engineering?
The show rolls on with Rep. Mark Pocan from Wisconsin, who expressed concern for members of the LGBTQ community, asserting Trump’s initiatives will create an oppressive atmosphere. If allowing states the freedom to define policies is a threat, then individual rights take a significant hit, but Pocan seems determined to keep his narrative alive, crying about respect and equality—even as progressive policies constantly tilt toward stifling debate on both sides of the aisle.
While the Progressive Caucus squawks about accountability, it’s worth noting that their fierce resistance is already being met with opposition in the courts from a motley crew of labor unions, immigrant rights groups, and Democratic state attorneys general. As they rally around their mission to seemingly transform America into their utopian vision, they inadvertently tip their hand, proving that perhaps it’s not Americans they’re interested in serving, but rather an ideological agenda that refuses to acknowledge reality.
