A federal judge appointed by Barack Obama just handed Biden’s open-border allies a massive win by blocking the Trump administration from withholding federal funds from sanctuary cities. This isn’t about upholding the Constitution—it’s about enabling lawlessness and punishing those who dare to enforce immigration laws that protect American citizens.
Judge William Orrick’s expanded injunction now shields some of the most notorious anti-American jurisdictions from any financial consequences for refusing to cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Baltimore, Denver, and Albuquerque—these cities love turning a blind eye to illegal immigration and are now getting a green light from the courts to keep flouting federal law. Their so-called “sanctuary” status is a license to dangerous chaos, and Orrick is using the 10th Amendment as a cover to actually handcuff the federal government’s ability to defend our borders.

This judge and the leftist cities suing to protect their sanctuary status would have Americans believe it’s about protecting immigrant victims or keeping communities “safe.” The truth? It’s a cynical ploy to shield illegal aliens from deportation and preserve voter bases for the Democrat Party. Sanctuary policies are a direct threat to public safety, inviting more crime and draining taxpayer dollars. The Trump administration tried to use federal funds as leverage to get these cities back in line, and now this activist judge has ruthlessly blocked that effort—demonstrating the breathtaking arrogance of the judiciary in siding with lawbreakers over law-abiding Americans.
What’s even more outrageous is how this Obama-appointed judge openly mocked the administration’s attempts at immigration enforcement, showing blatant bias rather than impartiality. Meanwhile, the Biden administration, happy to sit silently, refuses to push back hard enough in court or with the public. They’d rather sacrifice the safety and security of hardworking citizens than confront their open-border radical base that sees America as a free-for-all.
If these sanctuary cities want to thumb their noses at federal law, let them face the consequences. Cutting off funds is the only leverage the federal government has to restore order and uphold immigration laws. At what point do conservatives stop playing defense and start calling out these partisan judges and radical cities for what they are? America needs leaders, not enabling leftists disguised as public servants. If lawlessness is rewarded, how long before the entire country turns into a sanctuary state?
