But instead of throwing in more theatrics, how about focusing on the basics? The vast majority believe that if people want to settle in the United States, they should do so legally, contribute positively, and follow the nation’s laws. This seems like a reasonable request, but some politicians act like it’s rocket science.
The gist of the matter is quite simple. Enter the country legally, and it’s a win-win for everyone involved. Blending into the community and making valuable contributions is what the American dream should be about. However, if someone’s method of entry is both illegal and coupled with criminal intentions, then deportation shouldn’t just be an option—it should be a priority.
