Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) set the record straight earlier this month when he boldly denounced the idea of sending more of hard-earned taxpayer money to Ukraine in foreign aid deals. He made it crystal clear that our country should take care of its own problems first, especially the crisis at the border and illegal immigration, before playing the role of international savior.
But hold onto your hats, folks, because it turns out Sen. Paul was right on the money (pun intended). An overwhelming majority of voters agree with him. According to a recent Rasmussen Reports survey, a whopping 67% of likely voters want our politicians to put America first and address our border security before they start throwing money at other nations. It’s a no-brainer, really.

With the chaos at our border worsening by the day, especially since Joe Biden took the reins, it’s no wonder that Americans are demanding action. The flood of illegal immigrants is reaching record levels, and it’s about time that our elected officials put our country’s needs ahead of foreign agendas.
Some other Republican heavy-hitters, like Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) and Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH), have also voiced sensible arguments about aiding Ukraine. Their message is clear: let’s take care of business at home before we start writing big checks for international projects.
So just imagine for a moment a world where our politicians actually listen to the wishes of the American people who put them in office. A world where the voices of everyday citizens matter more than the whims of special interest groups and elitists. It’s a dreamy thought, isn’t it? Well, one can always hope.
