In a shocking display of activist judicial power, the left-wing independent presidential candidate, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., expressed his horror over the Colorado Supreme Court’s ruling that former President Donald Trump is disqualified from appearing on the state’s 2024 ballot. Kennedy did not mince his words when condemning the court’s decision, labeling it as absurd and comparing it to the actions of a banana republic.

The activist-dominated Democrat-infested state supreme court based its ruling on the claim that Trump engaged in an “insurrection” against the federal government on January 6, 2021. They twisted the 14th Amendment to argue that this disqualifies him from seeking re-election to the White House. Despite a lower court ruling in favor of Trump’s eligibility, the higher court is determined to undermine democracy, according to RFK Jr. He denounced the decision as an affront to democracy and accused the court of denying the voters their say.
Kennedy took to social media to voice his criticism, stating that he is not a Trump supporter but believes in a fair election where the voters choose their candidates, not the courts. He further lamented that the court’s decision to remove Trump from the ballot undermines the American people’s right to choose their president.
The Colorado Republican Party shares Kennedy’s outrage and has threatened to boycott the state primaries if the ruling stands. Kennedy continued to comment on the matter, emphasizing that the court’s decision was a violation of Trump’s rights and warning of the consequences if Trump’s supporters feel that he is being kept out of office through judicial maneuvering rather than a fair election.
GOP candidate Vivek Ramaswamy joined the chorus of criticism, describing the ruling as an attack on democracy. He pledged to withdraw from the Colorado GOP primary unless Trump is allowed on the state’s ballot, urging other candidates such as Ron DeSantis, Chris Christie, and Nikki Haley to do the same.
In addition to the candidates’ objections, attention has turned to the four justices who voted to bar Trump from the ballot. Justices Richard L. Gabriel, William W. Hood III, Melissa Hart, and Monica Márquez, all political appointees, have been accused of having left-wing leanings. Kennedy and his allies argue that these judges are politically motivated and are using their positions to undermine fair elections.
