Marco Rubio’s latest move at the UN is stirring quite the storm among some of our French friends, and unsurprisingly, they’re not happy campers. The recent decision of the U.S. to pull the plug on its involvement in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has ruffled French feathers. But let’s face it, if the French are mad, it probably means America is doing something right.
Today, the United States announced our decision to withdraw from UNESCO. Like many UN organizations, UNESCO strayed from its founding mission. Going forward, U.S. participation in international organizations must make America safer, stronger, and more prosperous.

For too long, U.S. tax dollars have been thrown into UNESCO’s bottomless pit to promote a globalist agenda that clashes with American values. This agency, like many others within the United Nations, has strayed far from its original purpose. They’ve been spending more time ticking off international development goals that don’t match America’s priorities than actually working for world peace and cooperation. Why should hard-earned American money continue to prop up an organization that stubbornly pushes divisive social and cultural causes?
And let’s talk about the real clincher—UNESCO’s decision to admit the so-called State of Palestine as a member. That move was like rocket fuel for anti-Israel rhetoric buzzing around international corridors. The United States, a steadfast ally of Israel, should not stand by while a supposedly impartial organization takes a side. Continuing our membership equates to an endorsement of this nonsense.
The withdrawal shows America is ready to focus its energies on endeavors that actually make us safer, stronger, and more prosperous. No more wasting funds on international schemes that serve other countries’ interests while leaving our own in the dust. The French may moan and groan, but let’s remember, they aren’t the ones footing the bill for UNESCO’s wild ride!
So what’s next? Instead of cozying up to these biased, bureaucratic entities, Marco Rubio and the State Department are realigning overseas efforts that genuinely put America First. The United Nations might not be too pleased, but they’re not the ones making America great. This bold move exposes the misconceptions of globalist elites who thought they could get away with counting on American generosity forever.
So bravo to those in Washington dedicated to defending our sovereignty and our wallets. Who will be mad next after the French? Maybe it’s time to find out, as America continues to stand strong on the world stage.
