Conservatives should cheer when leaders like Banks point to brave outlets that refuse to kowtow to the mainstream media’s spin, because letting the CCP dictate the narrative at home is nothing short of national sabotage. When patriotic Americans see their senator standing with reporters who tell the truth about the Chinese threat, they should stand with him without apology.
This isn’t idle rhetoric — Banks has repeatedly translated his warnings into concrete legislation aimed at cutting off Beijing’s influence, from bills targeting political warfare operations to sanctions for officials enabling fentanyl flows that devastate American families. His work on countering Chinese political warfare and his push to hold the CCP accountable for its transnational crimes show a lawmaker who understands that propaganda is just another weapon in Beijing’s arsenal. The American people deserve representatives who act, not lecture, when our security is on the line.
Breitbart and other bold conservative outlets have been doing the hard work of reporting where legacy media looks the other way, exposing partnerships and soft-power schemes that help Beijing influence Hollywood, corporate boardrooms, and our classrooms. That reporting has spurred congressional letters, hearings, and real-world pushback — exactly the kind of journalism this country needs when establishment outlets prioritize access over courage. We should be thankful for outlets that refuse to be silenced by the left’s cancel culture and that hold foreign adversaries to account.
Meanwhile, too many in the Democratic establishment and Big Tech continue to treat China as a competitor to be accommodated rather than an adversary to be contained, and that cowardice costs lives and jobs. Banks has rightly called out weak legislation and political posturing that gives China cover while pretending to be tough, and conservative media has amplified those warnings for the American people to see. If we allow our policy to be driven by naiveté and cheap optics, we will awake one day to a world where American freedom is squeezed out by authoritarian influence.
This debate is bigger than a single senator or outlet; it’s about whether America still has the spine to confront threats honestly. Senators like Jim Banks, backed by reporters willing to dig and speak plainly about Beijing’s tactics, are leading the way in defending our institutions from foreign manipulation. Patriots should support their work, demand accountability from elected officials on both sides of the aisle, and amplify the truth wherever it is told.
