Those tuning in could almost envision the Babylon Bee writers chuckling—had the skit originated from their workshop, it would have fit right in. This marks an unlikely victory for SNL, which has largely drifted away from genuinely funny content over the years.
While the issue of gay adoption continues to ignite fierce debate, SNL’s skit seems to skirt the political fray, opting instead for a light-hearted jab at the absurdity of the situation. Unfortunately, one funny skit doesn’t signal a broader change, nor does it erase years of unyielding leftist orthodoxy within the show.
