Texas Democrats Flee State to Block Fair Redistricting Map

Texas Democrats are running scared again. This time, they’re fleeing the Lone Star State to stop a new redistricting map that could give Republicans five more seats ahead of 2026 elections. These liberal lawmakers don’t want President Trump’s proposed map—designed to fix gerrymandered districts—to pass. They’re breaking the rules by leaving town, just like they did in 2021 and 2003. This isn’t fancy – it’s a tantrum.

The Texas House needs at least 100 members present to vote. With over 50 Democrats gone, there’s no quorum. They’re hiding somewhere out of state, probably in Illinois, where Gov. Pritzker has already stabbed Texas in the back once. These cowards can’t face a fair vote, so they skip town instead.

Republicans say the map better represents Texas voters. Cities like Dallas and Houston might lose their left-leaning lean and become competitive again. Democrats scream “racist” even though populations have shifted. They’re desperate to keep rigging elections their way.

Abbott and Paxton have had enough. Theudit Paxton says these lawmakers should face arrest for breaking the law. “If you’re a member of the legislature and you flee the state, you’re a fugitive,” he said. Fines stack up by the day, but Democrats don’t care—they’d rather pay than lose power.

They’re using natural disasters as an excuse. A special session was called after recent floods, but Democrats are blocking disaster relief to grumble about redistricting. “Governor Abbott is using a tragedy to divide Texas,” they whine. Really, he’s stopping their election-rigging schemes.

These Democrats claim they’re “fighting for Texans,” but most Texans support fair maps. they’re just mad because they might lose seats. Texas is still red, and they know it. Instead of listening to voters, they run to liberal states where no one wants them.

History shows running away doesn’t work. In 2003 and 2021, Democrats walked out—and still lost. The GOP will pass this map eventually. These antics only hurt Texas’s reputation. “We’ll get back to work when you stop cheating,” Republicans should tell them.

This isn’t about fairness—it’s about power. Democrats fear losing control, so they break the rules. Real leaders don’t flee—they fight with ideas. Texas deserves better than politicians who quit when they lose. Abort this map? Bring it on. elections Texas come hard
