The View Debates Hunter Biden Pardon Amid Thanksgiving Turkey Pardon Tradition

The Thanksgiving spirit filled the air, along with the usual turkey talk, as the ladies of The View griped about President Biden’s annual turkey pardons. This year, it was Peach and Blossom that made the cut, but it seems the ladies had their sights set on a far more pressing matter: should Hunter Biden — the man who has become synonymous with scandal — receive a pardon before his father wraps up his presidential gig?

Whoopi Goldberg kicked off the discussion with a burning question about the Biden family dynamics. The speculation swirled like autumn leaves about whether pardoning Hunter would only paint the president into a tighter corner with opponents keen on the “you-know-who” narrative. Evidently, it seems the ladies were mostly on board with the idea of showering Hunter with a pardon, perhaps out of sheer familial solidarity or maybe, just maybe, as a distraction from his numerous legal woes.

Alyssa Farah Griffin, in an act of hypothetical parenting, mused about how she’d stand by her theoretical kiddos in a similar predicament. While advocating for Hunter’s pardon, she elegantly pointed out the unfortunate reality that countless others languish in prison for minor offenses without the luxury of a powerful surname. But why let a little thing like justice get in the way of a potential family forgiveness fest?

Ana Navarro couldn’t resist making a backhanded comparison, reminding everyone how Trump previously pardoned Charlie Kushner, who had his own legal run-ins involving taxes and witness intimidation. Apparently, in Navarro’s world, bringing up Trump’s past pardons somehow legitimizes Biden’s potential pardon of his son. As if to say, if Trump can have his turkey, why can’t Biden slice into his own?

Joy Behar made a cheeky observation about Trump and his prospective pardoning spree, implying that the former president would snatch up the chance to hand out pardons like free samples at Costco. The playful banter continued with Sunny Hostin declaring that Hunter’s troubles stemmed from his oh-so-illustrious last name, suggesting a pardon would “correct course” for the family’s legacy. Because apparently, having Biden genetics should render one immune to legal consequences.

As the laughter echoed in the studio, Sara Haines lamented Biden’s tumultuous presidency, suggesting a pardon for Hunter would provide senior Biden with an easy exit strategy — allowing him to wipe his hands clean of a mess he didn’t create, but benefitted from nonetheless. Behar chimed in to round out the comic relief with a joke about an entirely unrelated topic, proposing that the White House dogs that bit Secret Service agents also deserve pardon. At this point, it seemed the only ones not laughing were the American taxpayers wondering how to balance the scales of justice in an increasingly bizarre political landscape.
