Tom Homan Sounds Alarm: US Strikes on Iran Risk Escalation

The surveillance cameras have caught a troubling glimpse into the state of America’s border. While it might seem that the borders are as open as a 24-hour drive-thru, unfortunately isn’t a late-night comedy show. There are serious concerns about who these people are and where they might be headed. With millions entering the country under the watch of an administration that seems more interested in orchestrating humanitarian crises than managing national security, it’s no wonder there’s a growing sense of unease about our safety.

The numbers are daunting. Under President Biden, there have been reports of millions crossing the border, some undetected. A staggering ten million people reportedly crossed in just a few years. By contrast, during the Trump administration, the border was remarkably secure, the safest many had ever seen. The term “got away” has taken on a new and alarming meaning as two million individuals have slipped through, leaving behind a trail of unanswered questions and mounting security risks.

Concerns about the national security vulnerability this creates are intensifying. The intelligence community warns that they’ve found ominous signs at the border, like prayer mats and documentation from countries such as Iran and Syria. It’s hard to shrug this off as merely a coincidence. The fact that some could very well blend into society undetected should serve as a blaring alarm bell. It is baffling to some that this isn’t being recognized as a significant threat.

It’s not just imaginary threats either. The absence of strong leadership at the border is glaringly evident. The previous administration was armed with a team that understood the complexities of the border and had the experience to tackle these issues head-on. But now, the game seems to be played without a referee, and the stakes are astronomically high. With such a lack of oversight, it is only a matter of time before this lack of control manifests itself in more tangible threats to national security.

In summary, the border situation has plunged from security to uncertainty. With so many potentially dangerous infiltrators going undetected, it feels less like a border crisis and more like an open invitation for trouble. As long as the approach remains lackadaisical, this won’t be the last time America faces such risks. Only with renewed focus, competent leadership, and a clear strategy can the tide be turned, and the border return to being a bastion of security rather than an ongoing concern.
