President Donald Trump’s support seems to be surging like gas prices in a Biden administration. A recent poll from NBC News revealed something truly shocking for anyone who hasn’t been living under a rock—more American voters believe the nation is “heading in the right direction” than at any time since 2004. This marks a staggering 21-year high, which is likely sending some in the mainstream media into a tizzy, scrambling to find ways to spin this into a negative light.
Now, to the surprise of absolutely nobody, Trump’s approval ratings are also skyrocketing, hitting 47 percent. That’s right, nearly half of registered voters think he’s doing a bang-up job as the commander-in-chief. However, in a classic move for legacy media, NBC felt compelled to downplay this tremendous positivity with a hodgepodge of caveats right out of the gate, kicking off with the gloomy sentiment that voters are a bit sour on the economy under Trump’s watch.
While NBC did begrudgingly concede that Trump’s second-term prospects are injecting a spark of optimism into the electorate, they shoehorned in phrases suggesting that the beloved media darling, the Democrats, don’t share the voters’ enthusiasm. In fact, just 18 percent of Democrats rated the economy as “excellent” or “good,” which likely has them throwing pity parties with their most loyal donors.

The NBC article tried to paint a picture of Trump being out of sync with voters on economic issues but failed to truly acknowledge that the Republican base is rallying around him like bees to honey. Support for his policies is gaining momentum, with Republicans standing shoulder-to-shoulder in support of Trump’s expansive agenda. Meanwhile, it seems the Democrats are stuck in their hamster wheel of discontent, pretending they have the pulse of the nation when their own party members are sharing cold, hard disapproval.
In a surprising twist, Americans have started coming around to Trump’s immigration policies focused on deportation. This shows a rather remarkable shift, considering many political experts have insisted that such ideas could never gain traction. Yet, the fact remains—average Americans seem to want a secure border and a crackdown on illegal immigration, and they appreciate that Trump recognizes this glaring need while working to fulfill his promises.
Watching NBC and their ilk squirm over these developments is a spectacle in itself. Their attempts to minimize Trump’s support are as transparent as their bias. It’s almost comical that they refuse to acknowledge that the former president has tapped into a real desire among the populace while they watch their own party spiral into record lows of public approval. If the media were to treat Trump with half as much fairness as they afford to flipside politicians, it’s likely his ratings would soar even higher, a truly unnerving thought for the Democrats still clutching their optics.
