Before going on trial in Manhattan, former President Donald Trump is making a campaign stop in the deep blue Bronx of New York. The former president made a recent visit to a bodega in Harlem before this visit. The Bronx Democratic Party has said that they will be opposing Trump's event.

In the 2020 election, the liberal-leaning Bronx massively backed President Joe Biden; only Manhattan voted in favor of Biden with such a large margin. Only GOP-friendly Staten Island received less votes in the Bronx than all five of New York City's boroughs combined, even though a sizable portion of the borough's citizens cast ballots in the most recent election.
Biden defeated Trump in the 2020 election in New York, as the Democrat received a sizable number of his votes from voters in the city. Despite the difficulties he encounters in overwhelmingly blue cities like New York, Trump continues to make an effort to win over voters in Democratic-leaning areas, as evidenced by his visit to the Bronx.
