In Des Moines, Iowa, a group of climate change protesters attempting to rain on former President Donald Trump’s parade were shut down by the roaring support of the enthusiastic crowd at his final rally before the Iowa caucuses. The feisty protesters took to shouting their accusations at the former president, only to be met with overwhelming cheers drowning out their message. Trump, never one to shy away from a comeback, responded with a sassy retort of “Go home to mommy,” which only added fuel to the already fiery crowd.

Not content with disrupting just one candidate’s event, these environmental activists weren’t finished yet. Even Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a 2024 candidate, found himself in the crosshairs. A mischievous comedian, known for targeting conservative figures, crept into DeSantis’ event to deliver a “participation trophy” to the struggling candidate. The crowd erupted in laughter as the comedian poked fun at DeSantis’ chances of winning the race. DeSantis, refusing to play along, promptly dismissed the trophy, proving he’s not one for participation prizes.
It’s clear that these attempts to thwart the momentum of both Trump and DeSantis fell flat, with the crowds appearing more energized than ever at the mere sight of their beloved candidates. Despite the best efforts of these protesters and pranksters, it’s evident that the conservative base remains as dedicated and fired up as ever. With the Iowa caucuses just around the corner, the energy and enthusiasm of these events only serve to further solidify the support for these conservative icons. Trump and DeSantis may continue to face opposition, but their supporters show no sign of backing down.
