Oh boy, here we go again! It looks like former President Donald Trump has missed yet another deadline, and this time it’s a big one. He failed to seek the Supreme Court’s review of claims that he is immune from civil lawsuits over the events of January 6, 2021. You know, that little gathering in Washington, D.C., where the left likes to pretend that Trump incited an insurrection.
Now, before we get into the nitty-gritty, let’s talk about these lawsuits. Trump is not only facing criminal proceedings brought by Special Counsel Jack Smith, but he also has three civil lawsuits on his plate. U.S. Capitol Police officers and members of Congress are suing him left and right, all claiming physical injury and emotional distress. Seriously, do they not have anything better to do?

But wait, it gets even better! These cases have all been consolidated into one big lawsuit called “Blassingame v. Trump.” It’s like a little reunion where everyone comes together to blame Trump for their own problems. And what do you know, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit rejected Trump’s claim of immunity from civil lawsuits. They just can’t seem to get enough of going after him.
Now, the Supreme Court has some rules, and one of them is that petitions for certiorari, whatever that means, need to be filed within 90 days of a judgment from a lower court. Guess what? Trump missed the deadline. I’m not surprised. It seems like deadlines and Trump just don’t mix. But fear not, my conservative friends, because the court did say that Trump can bring the same claim again. Talk about a second chance!
But here’s the real kicker. The court also said that discovery in these cases hasn’t been completed yet, so there’s still a chance for Trump to gather more facts and build a solid defense. You know, something the left hates – facts. The court even mentioned that Trump could move for summary judgment on his claim of official-act immunity. Basically, they’re saying, “Hey, Trump, you’ve got another shot, so go get ’em!”
Now, let’s not forget about the plaintiffs in this lawsuit. We’ve got James Blassingame and Sidney Hemby, two U.S. Capitol Police officers who were injured during the so-called “storming” of the Capitol. Sure, they got hurt, but let’s not act like they didn’t sign up for a dangerous job. And their complaint even mentions racial slurs being hurled at them. Look, racism is terrible, but let’s not use it as a way to vilify Trump. He has enough on his plate already.
And of course, we can’t leave out the brave Democratic representatives who decided to jump on the bandwagon. Reps. Bennie Thompson and Eric Swalwell are also suing Trump, claiming that his actions and claims of a “stolen” election violate the Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871. Seriously, guys? You’re going to compare Trump to the KKK? That’s low, even for the left.
So, what’s next in this never-ending saga? Well, the next hearing hasn’t been scheduled yet, but you can bet your bottom dollar that Trump will be ready. With multiple legal proceedings and the possibility of another presidential run, he’s not backing down anytime soon. The left may try to stop him, but they won’t succeed. Trump is a force to be reckoned with, and I have no doubt that he’ll come out on top once again.
