The recent move by the Trump Justice Department to join a lawsuit against UCLA’s medical school strikes at the heart of a major problem in our education system: racial discrimination in college admissions. Allegations suggest that UCLA employs a fundamentally racist system favoring black and Latino applicants while systematically shutting out qualified white and Asian-American candidates. This is nothing less than a blatant assault on meritocracy and a vivid example of the left’s obsession with identity politics.
This case underscores a grim reality about how campuses are frequently more concerned with checking boxes than with actual qualifications. The notion that certain racial groups are prioritized over others for admissions is a disturbing trend. It’s a dangerous precedent that encourages division instead of unity, and it undermines the very idea of fair competition. If students can’t get into med school based on their abilities, what does that say about our future doctors? Will they have the skills needed to save lives, or will their admission be seen as a victory for social equity rather than academic merit?

The hypocrisy of liberal elites in controlling admissions has become blatantly obvious. They claim to support all students, but their actions indicate a preference for some over others. UCLA’s approach is for the radical left that believes equity overrides excellence. It’s like saying it doesn’t matter if you studied hard or have the best grades—as long as you fit a certain demographic, you’re in. This is not just wrong; it’s deeply un-American.
Even more frustrating is the notion that these policies will somehow solve systemic issues in society. The left promotes the idea that quotas will rectify past inequities, but all it does is perpetuate a cycle of resentment among those who are directly affected. White and Asian-American applicants are not the enemy. The root of the issue lies in a broader culture that inculcates guilt and victimhood, funded by globalist agendas too invested in social indoctrination to truly care about fairness.
As conservative patriots, we must stand firmly against these policies that pit one group against another. The DOJ’s involvement is a much-needed breath of fresh air in a world saturated with political correctness. Educational institutions should be bastions of knowledge and fairness—not platforms for social experiments that yield nothing but division and resentment. When will we wake up and realize that excellence should always come first, regardless of skin color? If we don’t take a stand against this travesty now, we risk losing the foundational values that make our country great.
