Trump Lawyer Blasts NY Ruling as “Absurd,” Vows to Fight Back

In a recent interview on Breitbart News Daily, Alina Habba, lawyer for former President Donald Trump, minced no words in expressing her utter disdain for the recent ruling in New York’s fraud case against Trump. She made it clear that the battle is far from over and that she will be responding to the ruling “thoughtfully” and “methodically” through the appellate process.

Habba was fiery in her critique of the ruling and didn’t hold back in her criticism of Judge Arthur Engoron, who ordered Trump to pay a whopping $355 million over fraud allegations and barred him from conducting business in New York for three years. She slammed the ruling as “absolutely absurd,” questioning the basis upon which the astronomical figure was determined. Habba decried what she perceived as a “dual justice system” and insinuated that there were political motivations behind the ruling.

Furthermore, she argued that the case was built on flimsy grounds, citing the absence of loan defaults, loss of money, victims, or damages. She highlighted the positive relationships between Trump and banks, noting that the lawsuit was unprecedented in its use of consumer fraud statutes. Habba also derided the valuation of Trump properties by the Attorney General’s associates, labeling it as preposterous.

Habba did not mince words when criticizing Judge Engoron, accusing him of making a “terrible decision” that had been previously reversed. She cast doubt on his judicial integrity, citing his alleged disregard for jury decisions. In her concluding remarks, she maintained that she would approach the appeal with careful consideration and thoroughness, leaving no doubt that the fight was far from finished.
