Trump Leads Biden by Four Points in Key Pennsylvania Swing State

In Pennsylvania, a recent Cygnal survey has revealed some interesting findings that could spell trouble for President Joe Biden. The survey indicates that former President Donald Trump is currently leading Biden by a four-point margin in this crucial swing state. Trump has secured 48 percent support compared to Biden’s 44 percent, with eight percent of voters remaining undecided.

When looking at swing voters specifically, Trump has a significant lead over Biden, with 37 percent to Biden’s 30 percent. Additionally, among independents in Pennsylvania, Trump holds a commanding 15-point advantage over Biden.

Even when third-party candidates are included in the equation, Trump still emerges as the front runner with 42 percent support, leaving Biden trailing at 38 percent. Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. garnered nine percent support, while candidates Cornel West and Jill Stein received two percent each. A noteworthy six percent of voters remain undecided.

The survey, conducted among 800 likely voters from June 27-28, 2024, has a margin of error of +/- 3.45 percent. It’s worth mentioning that the survey was taken both before and after the recent presidential debate, shedding light on how voters perceived the performance of each candidate during the event.

Interestingly, the survey revealed that a higher percentage of debate watchers had negative comments about Biden compared to Trump. Some persuadable voters expressed concerns about Biden’s performance, with remarks such as “Biden should step down now” and “Biden is too old to run again” echoing sentiments of doubt regarding the current President’s ability to lead effectively.

Despite the post-debate anxiety observed among Democrats, Biden’s campaign has remained steadfast in their commitment to continue the race. Campaign spokesperson Seth Schuster affirmed that Biden has no intention of stepping down, and even Biden’s family rallied around him at Camp David, urging him to push forward.

As the political landscape heats up in Pennsylvania and across the nation, these survey results signal a potential shift in voter sentiment that could have significant implications for Biden’s re-election prospects in 2024.
