Former President Donald Trump made a promise to help the protesters from the January 6 event. He said he will look into their cases and may pardon or reduce their punishments. Mr. Trump talked about this at a political conference for libertarians.
It was important for former President Trump to mention that he wants to include librarians in the task force to review the cases of the protesters. He called the jailed protesters “political prisoners” and said they are like “hostages.” This means he believes they should not be in jail.

The Libertarian conference did not show a lot of support for Donald Trump or Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Instead, they chose Chase Oliver as their presidential candidate. He won the nomination after several rounds of voting. This shows that many libertarians did not want Trump as their candidate.
It seems that former President Trump did not meet the requirements to be nominated by the Libertarian party. On the other hand, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. had more support from the attendees than Trump did. Kennedy talked about how both Biden and Trump handled the COVID-19 situation.
In the end, Chase Oliver won the nomination. He wants to spread a message of liberty and hope. This means he wants people to have freedom and be positive. It will be important to see how Oliver plans to move forward with his campaign.
