Former President Donald Trump has criticized President Joe Biden for his decision not to attend the Coronation of King Charles III. In a post on Truth Social, Trump claimed that Biden was “greatly insulting” the British people, who are “wonderful” and deserving of respect from the United States.

Trump’s editorial opinion is that the US President should have been in attendance as a representative of the country, and he expressed his belief that Biden’s absence is damaging the special relationship between the US and the UK.
He praised the British monarchy and wished the new King and Queen a “long and glorious” reign, adding that their absence at the Coronation is causing America to lose support all over the world. Trump exclaimed, “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”
Trump’s comments were echoed by Nile Gardiner, former Foreign Policy advisor to late former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, who called Biden a “petty, arrogant, sneering disgrace.”
Although the First Lady, Jill Biden, will head the US delegation to the Coronation, White House officials have dismissed concerns that Biden’s absence could harm the special relationship between the two countries, pointing out that former President Dwight Eisenhower did not attend Queen Elizabeth II’s Coronation.
However, the conservative republican news writer believes that Biden should have attended the event to show respect for America’s closest ally, the United Kingdom. In his opinion, Biden’s decision not to attend has demonstrated his lack of leadership and his unfavorable stance towards the UK.
