Trump Slams Newsom for “Loser” UK Climate Deal

It seems like California Governor Gavin Newsom has once again found himself in the crosshairs of President Trump. This time, Newsom’s target practice comes courtesy of a new climate deal he’s been striking with the United Kingdom. One could imagine Newsom, in his suit, strutting around Europe attempting to pass off as the President of California. Apparently, he’s decided that the track record of his state isn’t quite enough of a debacle and that he ought to extend his talents across the Atlantic.

President Trump didn’t hold back his criticism, branding Newsom’s environmental efforts as more disastrous than a high school science fair volcano gone wrong. Let’s face it, California isn’t exactly the model of how to operate under the banner of green policies. Under the leadership of Biden-Democrat-think-alike politicians, energy prices have soared, leaving Californian wallets considerably thinner at the gas pump. The idea that everything Newsom touches turns to garbage isn’t far-fetched when one looks at the crumbling infrastructure and the fleeing businesses of his own state.

Back in the U.S., Senior White House Deputy Press Secretary, Kush Desai, shed some light on the Trump administration’s stance. The White House is skeptical of Newsom’s escapades, viewing them as not only inappropriate but reflective of a failed agenda. Unlike the progressive policies of California, states aligning with Trump’s energy policies are basking in the glory of lower energy prices and prosperity. These states have seemingly tapped into the secret of oil and gas, showcasing that shiny wind turbines aren’t the magical solution Governor Newsom makes them out to be.

Trump’s administration is mystified as to why Newsom spends time courting European leaders instead of dealing with California’s entrenched issues like rampant crime and an exodus of its residents. With such a track record, Newsom might just win the prize for least aware politician. After all, the reality of a California where people are packing their U-hauls faster than he can sign a climate agreement should have been a wake-up call long ago.

President Trump, meanwhile, keeps his focus sharp on growing economic success stories here at home. The White House has been rolling out the red carpet for a booming economy, where real wages are finally moving in the upward direction once more. As Election Day approaches, the voters might recall the stark difference between high-dollar, high-angst California and the fresh-step-of-prosperity other states are enjoying. Come November, those Californian misadventures abroad might just be the gift that keeps on giving for Republicans.
