Trump Slams Rep Bob Good, Backs McGuire in Virginia GOP Clash

Former President Donald Trump took to social media to express his disapproval of Rep. Bob Good ahead of the Virginia Republican primary. Mr. Trump stated that Mr. Good has been detrimental to Virginia and the United States of America. He expressed his disappointment in Mr. Good’s previous opposition to him and criticized the timing of Mr. Good’s endorsement.

Despite Mr. Good’s position as the chair of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, tensions between him and Mr. Trump arose when he initially endorsed Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for the GOP presidential nomination before switching to support Mr. Trump after Gov. DeSantis withdrew from the race.

In the upcoming primary, Mr. Good is facing off against state Sen. John McGuire. Mr. Trump voiced his support for Mr. McGuire, emphasizing his military background and dedication to putting America first. Although Mr. Good has held the seat for two terms, he now faces the challenge of retaining it as a Republican without the endorsement of the former president.

During a tele-rally on Monday, Mr. Trump asserted his belief that if Mr. Good is reelected, he will be disloyal to Virginia, echoing his sentiments about Mr. Good’s past actions towards him. Despite this, Mr. Good has affirmed his pro-Trump stance and accused others of misleading the former president about him.

It is clear that tensions are running high in the lead-up to the Virginia Republican primary as the candidates seek to secure the endorsement of key figures and voters.
