The Conservative Political Action Conference in 2024 wasn’t the roaring success it usually is at the Gaylord National Harbor Convention Center near D.C. Why? Because attendees couldn’t get enough of their favorite former President, Donald Trump. The ex-POTUS brought in enough die-hard supporters to fill the main hall, but many other talks had more empty seats than a ghost town. Jacob Swartz, from the Ludwig von Mises Institute, said, “It was basically Trump all day, every day.” And hey, who can blame them? The man knows how to draw a crowd!

With speakers like Trump’s kin Lara Trump, hopeful senator Kari Lake, MyPillow tycoon Mike Lindell, and even the infamous Matt Gaetz, the stage was set for a Trump-tastic extravaganza. But not everyone was thrilled. Marya Dunning from Virginia felt the conference was a total Trump-fest, alienating folks who just couldn’t hop aboard the Trump train. Hey, to each their own, right? But come on, it’s Trump! The man’s a showstopper!
Even with President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador and President Javier Milei of Argentina making appearances, the seats remained emptier than a promise from a career politician. It was crystal clear to attendees like Swartz that Trump wasn’t just part of the show – he was the whole darn show. And you know what? The man knows how to steal the spotlight!
Sure, some folks grumbled about wanting a more diverse conservative voice, but let’s face it – Trump is the cream of the crop! Whether it’s Brit politician Nigel Farage or El Salvador’s own Bukele, everyone had nothing but praise for the former Commander-in-Chief. And the straw poll for Trump’s potential VP pick? Well, it was practically a tie between Gov. Kristi Noem and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy. Looks like the Trump train isn’t slowing down anytime soon!
So to all the Trump doubters out there – don’t rain on their parade! CPAC was a celebration of all things Trump, and boy, was it a sight to see. With supporters decked out in Trump gear from head to toe, the energy was electric. Love him or hate him, Donald Trump knows how to put on a show, and CPAC 2024 was proof of that. Let’s keep the Trump train chugging along to the White House in 2024 – all aboard!
