In a bold move that should surprise absolutely no one who’s been paying attention, President Trump has once again stepped up where Democrat leadership has spectacularly failed. This time, it’s over the raging crime in Washington, D.C., the Democrat-run disaster that’s supposed to be our nation’s shining capital. The President has dispatched federal law enforcement to patrol the streets, something that probably should have happened ages ago. For far too long, D.C. has been a playground for criminals while Democrats twiddle their thumbs and make excuses.

The President’s decision comes in response to a shocking surge in violent crime, epitomized by the recent brutal assault on a heroic former Department of Government Efficiency staffer. Let’s be real, stepping in to protect a woman from a carjacking only to end up bloodied shouldn’t be a routine weekend in the capital. But it is when you’re dealing with incompetent left-wing policies that give juvenile delinquents a slap on the wrist instead of handcuffs.
Some naive critics—typically liberal apologists—claim crime is historically low. What a joke. We all know they manipulate the stats by ignoring the ugly truths hiding under the surface of their so-called “Sanctuary” cities. If they would open their eyes, they’d see the real problem: youths and gang members are running rampant, emboldened by weak laws that prioritize “rehabilitation” over real justice. It’s time to face the facts—criminals need to be held accountable. Don’t forget to thank the local Democrats, whose lax policies have allowed this mayhem to thrive.
D.C. Attorney Jeanine Pirro has pointed fingers at ineffective programs like the “Second Chance Act” that let young offenders off easy. It’s about time! These programs are nothing more than warmed-over progressive nonsense that do nothing but embolden the youth to commit more crimes. Where was the outcry from Democrats when violence kept ticking up? Too busy issuing meaningless statements, no doubt.
Thank goodness President Trump isn’t willing to stand idly by. By bringing a strong federal presence into D.C., he’s sending a clear message that tolerance of crime is over. If Democrats won’t protect American citizens, then it’s on leaders like Trump to do what it takes to make our capital safe again. Isn’t it time we asked ourselves: why do we tolerate liberal leaders who can’t—or won’t—protect us from chaos?
