As the Trump team readies for another shot at the White House, they might want to roll up their sleeves and dig into some serious sleuthing — specifically into the questionable antics of New York’s State Education Department. The notion that this department has managed to operate in a bubble of incompetence and overreach without any consequences is almost as absurd as a vegan at a Texas barbecue.
Reports have circulated about the department’s questionable practices, from promoting bizarre curricula that seem more suited for a satire sketch than an actual school curriculum, to a stubborn refusal to embrace educational choices that empower parents. It’s about time that someone shines a light on this shadowy operation, which seems to be more interested in social engineering than actual education. Perhaps the Trump administration, alongside Congress, could prioritize an investigation into just what these bureaucrats have been up to with the public’s education budget.
After decades of promising to strengthen educational standards: “NY State Ed has fallen into total irrelevancy — and should be abolished” https://t.co/aKssqcjyR9

The irony is thick. While parents are often left navigating a maze of bureaucracy to get basic information about their child’s education, the State Education Department seems to be taking cues from a sitcom rather than a serious institution. The failure to respond to parental concerns and the promotion of ideologies rather than foundational learning are rampant. Who knew that teaching kids the basics of math and reading could fall victim to the radical whims of the left?
If Trump and Congress can bring some much-needed scrutiny to the NYSED, it could force a healthy reckoning. There’s a lot to unpack in terms of spending practices and curriculum choices that are not only questionable but downright alarming. Perhaps they could tackle the rampant politicization that has plagued classrooms, where coursework looks more like an indoctrination seminar than education. The education of future generations should not be a political battleground, unless it’s to defend the last bit of common sense left in our school systems.
After all, the very future of America’s youth hangs in the balance. With New Yorkers footing the bill for this education circus, it’s about time someone called out the clowns in charge. In the quest for educational excellence, it seems the apples of knowledge have fallen far from the tree of common sense, and an investigation might be just the remedy needed. It’s high time to hold the New York State Education Department accountable and ensure it gets back to the basics: teaching kids how to read, write, and think without drowning them in a pool of progressive rhetoric.
