Former President Donald Trump is making a surprising shift when it comes to ballot harvesting, and boy, oh boy, is it a doozy! Now, let me tell ya, this form of voting is about as trustworthy as a used car salesman, and we all know how shady those folks can be. But, hey, it’s technically legal, even if it’s a total mess. Unfortunately, the Democrats have already mastered this game, especially in states like Pennsylvania and Michigan where they have a stranglehold on power. So, if the Republicans want a fighting chance, they better start ramping up their ballot harvesting operations and fast. You know what they say, if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em!
Earlier this year, the Republican Party hinted that they were ready to dive into the world of ballot harvesting. And let me tell you, it paid off big time in California, saving many Republican incumbents and even allowing us to regain control of the House in the 2022 midterms. Yeah, the media tried to slam us for being hypocrites, but who really cares what they think? They’re masters at hypocrisy themselves! Besides, the American people are tired of these “gotcha” stories. It’s stale, folks. So when Trump initially showed support for ballot harvesting in February, it didn’t faze most voters one bit.
But now, things seem to be taking a turn. Trump, who is reportedly eyeing another shot at the presidency in 2024, is having second thoughts. What gives, Mr. Trump? The frontrunners for the Republican nomination, like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, are saying we’ve been focusing too much on Election Day turnout and missing out on opportunities. It seems like they have a point. So, Trump is jumping on board, using the same game plan as the Democrats to counter their sneaky ballot harvesting tactics. He even sent out a fundraising email vowing to fight back against the radical Democrats. Talk about a change of heart!
Now, some folks might be skeptical about whether Trump has the votes necessary to win in 2024. And you know what? They might be onto something. It’s a little early to be making those assumptions. But let’s be honest, Trump isn’t exactly known for lacking confidence. So why is he suddenly questioning his own ability to secure votes? It’s a head-scratcher, folks. And while I understand the hesitation, this isn’t the time to sit back and watch. The entire Republican Party needs to get in the game. We may not like it, but we have to play dirty if we want to win. We can’t afford to let our moral compass get in the way of victory!
Look, dismantling ballot harvesting might be a battle for another day. For now, we need to focus on winning elections. It’s gonna be a tough fight, no doubt about it. But if there’s one thing we can learn from the Democrats, it’s that they don’t hold back. They go all-in, using every trick in the book to secure a win. So why should we play by different rules? It’s time for the GOP to take a page from the left’s playbook and show them we can play their game just as well. Let’s throw everything against the wall, folks, and see what sticks.
