Patel has been called out by his Democratic peers for allegedly being a Trump loyalist and for his views related to the QAnon conspiracy theory. However, Republican Chair Chuck Grassley didn’t waste any time addressing these accusations, asking Patel outright if he identifies with the conspiracy group. While Patel assured Grassley he firmly rejects such theories, he affirmed his support for law enforcement and the military, reiterating the need for a secure border.
Amid this political circus, the recent tragedy of a plane collision lingers over Capitol Hill, casting a shadow on the urgency of these confirmations. Republican senators are pushing hard for these nominees to be installed in the Trump administration, believing these roles are vital for national security.
