The U.S. military has for the first time publicly released dramatic footage of missile strikes and aircraft sorties against Iranian military sites, a raw display of American firepower that should reassure every patriot that our forces can and will act when the homeland is threatened. Hard truths come with war: reporting shows at least one strike struck dangerously close to a girls’ school in Minab, killing scores of children, a tragedy that has sparked international outrage and is under investigation. Independent analysis cited by major outlets linked a likely Tomahawk missile to a compound meters from the school, underscoring the grim reality that Iran’s Revolutionary Guard routinely co-locates military infrastructure around civilian sites—a tactic the Ayatollahs use to hide behind innocents.
Make no mistake: this is a large-scale, carefully planned campaign meant to dismantle Iran’s ability to threaten the region and Americans overseas, and CENTCOM has said hundreds to thousands of targets have been struck in the opening days as part of the coordinated push with partner forces. Tehran’s retaliation against U.S. positions and regional allies only proved the necessity of decisive action, and the footage is a warning shot that America will not tolerate threats from a regime that exports terror.
Still, we can expect the usual chorus from international bureaucrats and our domestic critics who put self-righteous lectures above the safety of American servicemembers; human rights bodies and parts of the media are already amplifying every allegation while ignoring Iran’s decades of aggression. Americans should demand investigations be thorough and transparent, but they should also recognize that wavering or moralizing from Washington’s critics only encourages tyrants who count on our weakness.
Now is the time for unity behind our troops and for clear support of the commanders executing the orders necessary to keep our country safe. While questions about civilian harm must be answered, patriotic Americans know the difference between defending freedom and appeasing a regime that has sworn our destruction—stand with the men and women who carry the burden so the next generation can live in safety.
