This move is aimed at speeding up peace talks, a rather ambitious step considering the current state of affairs. Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin is gallivanting off to China for what they’re calling a “Security Summit,” a gathering that seems more like a slumber party for the anti-Western leaders. Along with him is the North Korean leader, popping up like an uninvited guest ,showing up to boost his unpopular reputation back home. With the war in Ukraine likely being a main topic, one might humorously hope that those discussions will bring more good than the latest fashion trends in military aggression.
Zelensky’s frustration is palpable, as he urges Putin to focus less on orchestrating more attacks and more on engaging in peace talks. However, Kremlin spokespersons are quick to point fingers at European leaders for allegedly hindering peace efforts. They paint a picture of European powers almost chaperoning Ukraine’s resistance.
