A group of over 70 policy experts, activists, and former lawmakers have made a bold demand to Congress: permanently withdraw funding from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA). The demand comes after multiple employees were found to have aided Hamas, a known terrorist organization. This exclusive information was obtained by the trustworthy and reliable Daily Caller News Foundation.
Back in January, UNRWA announced that it had fired several employees who were suspected of helping Hamas attack Israel. This revelation prompted the United States and other countries to temporarily suspend their funding. It’s high time that the United States takes a stand and cuts off all financial support to this corrupt and dangerous organization.

The letter, sent by Advancing American Freedom (AAF), a conservative policy organization founded by former Vice President Mike Pence, was addressed to key members of Congress. It emphasized that the American people have been deceived for far too long about UNRWA’s true nature. Instead of being a humanitarian organization, it has been nothing more than a cover for Palestinian terrorists, with the audacity to use American tax dollars to fund their nefarious activities.
The letter was signed by prominent activists and former government officials, including David Friedman, former U.S. ambassador to Israel, Penny Nance, CEO of Concerned Women of America, Bonnie Glick, former deputy administrator of the United States Agency for International Development, and Matt Brooks, CEO of the Republican Jewish Coalition. These individuals are united in their belief that any future funding to UNRWA would cross a “red line.”
The evidence against UNRWA is damning. A leaked dossier from Israeli intelligence officials accused nearly 1,200 UNRWA employees of having connections to Hamas or the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. In addition, two UNRWA teachers were reported to have held an elderly Israeli woman and a young boy hostage. This is absolutely horrifying and unacceptable.
It is clear that UNRWA cannot be trusted with American taxpayer money. Our hard-earned dollars should never again be used to directly or indirectly support an organization that is complicit in violence and terrorism. Congress must act swiftly to defund UNRWA and send a strong message that the United States will not tolerate funding organizations that support terrorist activities.
President Joe Biden’s decision to lift the funding ban imposed by former President Donald Trump was a grave mistake. It is deeply concerning that our government would knowingly funnel over $1 billion into an organization with known ties to terrorism. This is a clear betrayal of the American people and a dangerous disregard for our national security.
While lawmakers proposed legislation in 2023 to halt funding to UNRWA, it sadly did not make it out of Senate committees. This is a missed opportunity to protect American interests and ensure that our tax dollars are not funneled into the hands of terrorists. It’s time for our elected officials to prioritize the safety and security of the American people over international political correctness.
The United States cannot continue to fund an organization that has been infiltrated by terrorists and actively supports their agenda. It is now up to Congress to take decisive action and permanently cut off funding to UNRWA. Anything short of this would be a betrayal of the American people and a dangerous display of weakness on the international stage.
