In a move that is sure to please his left-wing base, President Biden is ramping up the United States’ military presence in the Middle East. The Pentagon, under the guidance of Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, is sending an “additional number of forces” to deter Iran and its proxies from further escalating the conflict in Israel. It seems Biden is more interested in playing global police officer than focusing on the issues at home.

To make matters worse, the United States is also sending Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) and Patriot missile systems to the region, as well as two carrier strike groups to the Eastern Mediterranean. It’s like Biden wants to start a war with Iran just to distract from his failing domestic policies. And let’s not forget that it was under the Obama-Biden administration that Iran was given billions of dollars, which they used to fund terrorism across the Middle East.
While Biden claims that these steps will “bolster regional deterrence efforts” and “assist in the defense of Israel,” it’s clear that his priorities lie elsewhere. He recently asked Congress for another $100 billion to support Israel and Ukraine, but what about the American people? It’s time for Biden to focus on the issues at home and stop meddling in conflicts that don’t directly concern us.
There are also concerns that Hezbollah, an Iran-backed Islamist group operating in Lebanon, could open another front north of Israel. This is a serious threat that cannot be ignored. Yet, Biden seems more interested in appeasing his far-left base than addressing the real dangers in the region.
It’s worth noting that while Biden has resisted calls for a cease-fire, Israel has been relentlessly attacked by Hamas. And instead of supporting our closest ally in the region, Biden has chosen to turn a blind eye. It’s clear that his allegiance lies with the far-left and not with the security and safety of the American people.
In the end, Biden’s decision to increase the military presence in the Middle East is a dangerous and misguided move. It’s time for him to put America first and stop wasting taxpayer dollars on overseas conflicts. We need a president who will focus on the issues that directly impact the American people, not one who wants to play global police officer.
